Give your child an opportunity to be a farmer feeding his chickens. Pour yellow cornmeal into a plastic dishpan and set out some measuring cups. Let your youngster scoop up the cornmeal and pour it back and forth into various containers as if measuring out just the right amount for his chickens. He will enjoy pouring it over and over again.
